non-stop-dogwear-rush-harness
Non-stop dogwear Rush Harness

Non-stop dogwear Rush Harness is a short and lightweight combination of a pulling harness and an everyday harness.

The Rush Harness is designed to be quick and easy to put on and take off. It is ideal for activities with a high attachment point, such as canicross, bikejoring, skijoring, hiking, or everyday walks.

Rush is an excellent everyday harness for dogs that enjoy pulling, or for pulling sports with dogs that pull lightly to moderately or with varying enthusiasm. Thanks to the side panels extending toward the tail, the pull does not tip the harness neckline up against the dog’s throat; instead, it pulls the lower edge of the neckline down. This lightweight, short pulling harness is therefore particularly well suited for everyday use with dogs for whom pulling comes naturally. Rush is based on the popular Freemotion pulling harness, but designed as a lighter alternative.

Rush is often a good choice for beginners in pulling sports, too: it is a great way to try the sport, and if the dog gets excited about it and the pulling intensity and duration increase, Rush can remain an everyday harness even if you later upgrade to a longer, so-called dedicated pulling harness.

Thanks to its adjustable side straps, the Rush Harness fits many different dog shapes. Compared with many other pulling harnesses, Rush works well for dogs with a short chest and/or back. Rush is therefore also suitable for pull training with breeds that are not traditional sled dog breeds. Staffies, shepherd dogs, terriers, and others may find a lightweight pulling harness with a good fit in this model.

The Rush harness is made from breathable, soft materials so it does not make the dog overheat and is as lightweight and comfortable to wear as possible.

Is Rush suitable for a very strong puller? When should you choose a pulling harness with the leash attachment further back toward the tail instead?

A short pulling harness that ends in the middle of the back, such as the Rush, is not the best choice for sports where the pull comes from below, such as sledding. Also, if your dog is a very strong, steady puller and you actively train in pulling sports, you should consider, for example, the Non-stop dogwear Freemotion pulling harness or another pulling harness with a longer design. If you're unsure which model would be best suited to your dog, we'd be happy to help you choose. See our pulling harness selection guide and get in touch.

Choosing a size for the Non-stop dogwear Rush Harness

First, compare your dog's weight and size with the approximate weights and breed examples listed in the size chart. Once you have narrowed down the potential harness size based on these factors, check the size of the harness's neck opening. Divide this measurement by two and take a piece of measuring tape of that length. The measuring tape must be flexible; do not use a metal tape measure. Pro tip: If you don't have a fabric measuring tape, you can use, for example, a shoelace or charging cable that you have measured in advance.

Example: Your dog is a 34-kilogram pointer. Based on its weight and breed, the potential size appears to be size 7. According to the table, its neck opening is 53 cm. So take a 26.5 cm piece of measuring tape.

Place the measuring tape from the very top edge of the dog's breastbone to the neck, in front of the shoulder blades. The measuring tape should be pulled taut in a straight line so that it runs entirely in front of the dog's shoulders—exactly where the neck opening of a pulling harness should remain, even during a proper pull. The image below shows the area in question. Does this measurement just about fit? Good, then the neck opening of that size is likely very close to fitting correctly.

<td style="width: 14.1544%;
